Roofing Terms and Jargon

The two primary roofing terms that property owners need to know are leaks and reliable, both are self-explanatory. Being aware of several of the basic terms are necessary when discussing new roofing supplies for roof repairs will help the DIY homeowner explain what they need. too as enable them understand what an extra person is speaking about.

The first roofing term the home owner should know is the roofing materials of which the roof is made. Though most homes have asphalt roof components, other applications incorporate slate, tile, rubber and steel. Roofing nails would be the typical roof fastening device used but steel is held down by screws. For a commercial building with a flat of low slope roof a rubberized roof material is usually applied by several different methods, glued down, asphalt hot mopped or applied by a torched down method-heat applied.
